    Have you ever wondered?

    Have you ever wondered

    Why some people squander

    Chances to make things better?

Or why we don't write letters?

    Wouldn't it be neat

If shoes were shaped like feet?

    Or without too much rigour

We could all cut down on sugar?

    Have you ever wondered

    Who invented mustard

Why we ne'r see baby pigeons

Or have such fuss with all religions.

    Have you ever wondered

    Why your life's been plundered

    By a market based economy

With credit scores for you and me

    Determining our status

    And causing much hiatus

For poorer folk who must pay more,

In smaller chunks to be sure,

But costing more when said and done,

It's really sad and not much fun.

    Have you ever wondered

How to the Presidency Trump blundered?

Which is better, black or white?

Gay or straight, a fork or knife?

To love or hate, to fight or mate?

    Have you ever wondered

    Why resources are so squandered?

    Digging coal and pumping oil

Creating waste the world to spoil

    Plastic seas, polystyrene mounts

    We should really take account

    Of nature’s lessons;

This should be our main profession.

    Have you ever wondered

If you'll live until one hundred?

Children ask why grass is green?

Why lying’s bad, what ethics mean?

    These questions, queries and enquiries

Are quite exhausting and can enmire us

To search, to look, dig out the truth

For after all we need to sleuth

To answer these and many more

    Our humanness you must adore.
