    eurovision

It's over! The Carnival of camp, the Festival of fun

The votes, the points, all counted now we know whose won.

Seven points for Ireland, just two points for the Swiss

"Nul points" for the UK, it's all so hit and miss.

Hard Rock from the Germans, Mad Rock from the Serbs

Folk Rock from Ukraine have all by us been heard.

Ballads, Pop and Rap they all have had an airing

The glitz and glam 'nd costumes songsters have been wearing

Have impressed and often wow'd us

The dance and moves have cheered us

Pundits have inforned us, with facts and stats they've taught us

News and views, goss and truths, Eurostuff.

The Dutch are this, the French are that

    She's from Prague, he's a dad.

Cachophony of mad, a symphony of sounds

A spectrum of colours around us does abound,

A recipe of crazy tumbling from above

Giving us a glimpse of unconditional love.

Despite the different cultures, languages and votes

Eurovision magic sprinkles us with hope

Until the show is over and daily life resumes

Our hopes and dreams a fading, by 'Modern life' subsumed.
