    back to front thinking

    Irene was a complex child

Who could jump from calm to wild

In a blink she could switch

From an angel to a bitch.

Why this was no one knew

    Prestigious docs had no clue.

Her mum and dad were real concerned

So much so her dad he learned

A technique sound to sway his Irene

    Buying her a moleskin diary

    Into which the little girl

Wrote down her thoughts in great detail.

And every eve as his Princess slept

Into her room her father crept

And read his daughter’s daily scribe

But even now how ‘er he tried

All he found was nonsense verse

Her words all backwards – in reverse.

“I dad love and mummy too

I love the time play we all pursue

But why can’t they show love more

So I can them love and adore?”

    Puzzled by this strange behaviour

Her folks felt guilt as if they’d made her

Think about the world all wrong

What could they do to make her strong?

That night as her dad he slept

    Albeit feeling quite bereft

It came to him, in a dream,

Just how to fix his little ‘rene.

Next morning when she switched her mood

He calmly said, "I you love my angel shrewd

We you understand thinking your is immured."

From that day forth the lass was cured.

Which, at end of day, just goes to show

In order for all peeps to know

That when all said is and all is done

    Communication is begun

When what words mean is understood

    That this is ultimately good.

    End the.
